Michael Silver is an award-winning columnist for Yahoo! Sports whose cutting-edge NFL coverage entertains
millions of readers on a year-round basis.
Since joining Yahoo! in 2007, Silver has broken news, stirred up controversy and interacted with the sport's
biggest names via regular columns Morning Rush, The Gameface, 32 Questions and
Trippin' Tuesday. He has also been a prime personality on the site's "Sports Stream"; video segments and in
real-time through his Live Trippin' chats. He regular appears on numerous local and national radio programs
(including The Jim Rome Show and Fox Sports Radio with Chris Myers) and is a frequent presence on ESPN, the
NFL Network and other broadcast entities.
Silver has covered the NFL for two decades, including a 13-year stint at Sports Illustrated that included more
than 70 cover stories. Believed to be the first outside sports journalist t o visit New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina, Silver has broken stories ranging
from Tom Brady's torn anterior cruciate ligament to the Pittsburgh Steelers' hiring of Mike Tomlin. He has
done books with football greats Kurt Warner and Jerry Rice as well as NBA bad boy Dennis Rodman and Olympic
swimming champion Natalie Coughlin. A proud graduate of the University of California, Silver has served on the
school's athletic hall of fame committee since 2007.

viewed as a landmark testament to the increasing might of web-based media, and his regular Text of the Week feature
